Rivermist Racers Practice Meet 5/23
Good afternoon Racers!
Our practice meet is THIS THURSDAY night! It is important that ALL of our Racers and their families volunteer. The swimmers will be laying down times for all of their strokes in order to determine their seeding for our meets which start next Thursday!
Our parents will be using the time during the practice meet to train in areas they have signed up to work their required shifts. If you have not yet signed up for shifts, Jessica Galindo will be contacting you directly to plug you in to available time slots.
As you arrive at the pool on Thursday, please check in with her "between the gates". She will have your 2 areas of training assigned and which shift you will train where. This is a shorter meet as we don't do relays, so we hope to get started around 6:30 (after a 30 minute warm up) and we expect to conclude around 8:30 - 9:00. After the swimmers conclude their swims, we will have pizza and lemonade available for them. We have set Thursday up as a Dogwood Spirit night. Parents, if you would like to order a pizza, sandwich, or salad for yourself and siblings, please be sure to tell them you are with the Racers so we will earn a portion of your pizza sale. They do deliver to the RM Pool!!!
The Practice meet schedule is as follows:
4:30 - Set up team (in training) arrives for Set up Meeting
5:00 - Pool officially closes and set up begins
5:45 - Racers arrive for assignments
6:00 - 6:30 Warm Up/ Volunteers find their training locations
6:30 - 7:30 Shift 1 volunteer training/ first half practice meet
7:30 - 8:30 5-6 (and most 7-8) years old eat pizza and play on the playground lawn with Coaches supervision.
7:30 - 8:30 Shift 2 volunteer training / second half of practice meet
8:30 - 9:00 remaining Racers eat pizza/ clean up begins with those signed up to volunteer in this area.
Friday: Light practice and coach led fun activities
Memorial Monday: No practice
