Happy New Year Racers!

We hope everyone had a happy & safe holiday season!

It's time to declare at the GCSL level whether or not the Racers will continue with a team in 2020! We currently find ourselves in need of a volunteer for management and also a Head Coach. Stephanie Pingel and myself are prepared to continue to represent the Racers at the council level for the 2020 season. As I mentioned last summer, I have accepted a position on the GCSL board beginning this month. While I am willing to continue to HELP SOMEONE ELSE manage the Racers this Summer, I am seeking a "partner" in training in order to ensure that the Racers can continue to operate a swim team moving forward.

Some of you may remember how I came into this role 6 seasons ago. I volunteered to take over so that the team could continue, had I not, it would have been forced to fold up. I have been trying to turn over the reigns for the past 2 seasons to no avail. This type of forced leadership change is NOT ideal. It puts an unnecessary hardship on the volunteers, the league, and the swimmers. I would much rather train someone for a season (or possibly two if needed) in order to ensure many more years of Racers success;-) Please reach out to me ASAP if you have an interest in partnering with me!

Additionally, we desperately need a Head Coach for the 2020 season! If you are a year - round swim family or if your little Racers do lessons of any kind, we need you! Please recruit some swim coaching candidates to interview. We also NEED to have 3 volunteers to serve on a coach interviewing committee to begin as soon as we drum up a few candidates! The season will be upon us before we know it!!

Finally, if you served in a lead role position last season and will not be returning in 2020, please let us know immediately so we can start searching for someone to replace your position.

We have an AMAZING swim program here at Rivermist with some of the very best assistant and junior coaches in the league. We have tremendous community support and a multitude of willing, able, helpful, & generous lead volunteers that all work together to ensure the exceptional success of our team! Leading this group is a privilege and it is NOT difficult at all;-) All the help we have in place here will make this a very rewarding experience!!!!
