    Rivermist Racers Team Info

The Rivermist Racers is a super fun Summer Experience for community kids ages 5 – 18 years of age. It is DAILY exercise & activity for them which encourages and supports good health and an active lifestyle. Proficient swimming is a life skill that is invaluable for any age group with regards to water safety! Better still, the Racers provides it’s participating families the opportunity to build relationships throughout the community. This type of engagement creates a strong community that benefits every family member and the community as a whole!

Our Swim season begins with registration and preparation in March. Families can complete their registration, necessary waivers, and fee payments at their own convenience by visiting our website:

    rivermistracers.swimtopia.com

Our website contains a lot of information about our season. There you can find everything from the summer schedule to “what to bring to a meet”. It is a wealth of good information and your “everything Racers” resource throughout our Summer Season.

From May 11th – May 20 The Racers will host afternoon practices after school (Mon – Fri only). These have typically been 4:00 – 7:00 PM time frame but could potentially move to 6:00 – 9:00 PM this season.

    • Age groups 5–6 year olds & 7-8 year olds will have 30 minute practices.
    • Ages 9 – 18 will practice for 1 hour at a specified time.

On May 21st, our practices will move to mornings. We have typically run our practices from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM but that is subject to change this season and could start a bit earlier. Time TBD.

We have 6 swim meets from late May to Late June (5 out of 6 will be on Thursday evenings & 1 will be a Monday evening). 3 Home meets at Rivermist and 3 away meets at local neighborhood pools. Swimmers must arrive at Swim meets at 4:30 and can expect to remain until it concludes between 10:00 and 11:00 pm (usually). Some of this depends on the age groups. Younger children are free to leave as their swims conclude usually around 8:00 pm. Our swim meet schedule can be found on our website in the calendar and events sections.

Each family is required to “volunteer” their time in a selected role for ½ of the meet 4 times each season. Summer swim is 100% volunteer lead and operated! In fact, only the coaches receive payment and compensation for their time which comes out of the registration costs plus other monies we raise through concessions, and vending. Fundraisers are only utilized when the team needs to purchase replacement equipment for the meets or concessions & vending.

The Cost of Team Membership is as follows:

    • First swimmer per family $125.00 (plus $36.00 for non members)
    • Second Swimmer per family $115.00 (plus $36.00 for non members)
    • Each Additional swimmer per family $105.00 (plus $36.00 for non members)

These prices do not include team suits or HOA fees to become Rivermist pool members. For those inside the neighborhood, a pool membership is REQUIRED to join the swim team. For those outside the neighborhood who wish to join the team, no pool membership is required but the swim TEAM membership will not entitle them to pool access except during team practices and meets.

Team swim suits are NOT mandatory but we do encourage them for team unity! Boys suits are typically $35.00 - $40.00 and Girls suits average around $55.00 - $60.00 each. Our team suit can be purchased online through our website: click on Swim Atlanta swim shop. If you miss the opportunity to be fitted, you can visit athletic stores or the swim shop located at Swim Atlanta Sugarloaf for correct sizing. Our suit fitting representatives will be available at Open House and potentially one additional date in April at the clubhouse TBD.

Nothing about Swim Season is mandatory. We simply request that if you will be out of town or have Camp or other conflicts, that you let our coach and team leadership know so that we can remove your child from the swim roster for that meet.

At Rivermist, we love to win swim meets but our primary objective is to create a safe, positive, fun filled environment abundant with community friendship & support! We love kids, we love swim, and we love our families!! If you join us, you won’t be disappointed!

If we haven’t answered all of your initial questions here and convinced you to join us, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]!!

    Welcome to The Racers!!!!!!
