Coronavirus Update
In light of all the recent "cancellations" in our community and all over the world, it seems like a good time to update you on plans for Summer Swim. I have been in touch this week with the President of the Gwinnett County Swim League Board and she is closely monitoring the situation with the Covid Pandemic. In the next couple of weeks, our GCSL board will meet to discuss the plans moving forward as the start to Summer Season draws near. We are feeling grateful that there is still time to make big decisions! I imagine that the league will be making decisions based on local recommendations at the state and county levels as well as the CDC and Rivermist HOA. News reports this week indicated that the latest CDC recommendation was 8 weeks of Social Distancing in groups of 50 or more. As such, our season will at least see a one week postponement before practices begin - a best case scenario!
My recommendation is for you to hang tight for now. There is no rush to register as we take new registrations all the way up to the end of the first week of practice! If you can hold off to register, that will put more money in your pocket right now and also negate the need for us to refund you IF we run into a worst case scenario and the season is cancelled all together.
Please trust that we will stay on top of the evolving situation with this pandemic. Our decisions will prioritize the health and safety of each Racer and their families! I will send out email updates as I receive them.
As Racers, you are like family to me and my crew! If we can help you in any way during this unprecedented health event, please reach out to me. I will help if I can!!
