Meet #2 Details - read every word, NEW procedures
2nd Meet Details - must read every word
We are ready to kick butt in our 2nd meet tomorrow night! We swim against Cedar Creek and expect this to be a competitive, but very winnable meet. This is the first in-person dual meet in nearly 3 years and we are so ready and so excited.
**Morning practice at normal times tomorrow.
2nd Swim Meet: Thursday evening June 2nd
Setup Volunteers Only (and their swimmers/kids) at 4pm *Setup vols need to wear tennis shoes*
All swimmers and other volunteers arrive by 4:45pm
Swimmer Check-in 4:50pm
Warm-ups start at 5pm
Meet will begin at 6pm
We are making a few changes to help keep swimmers where they need to be and allow our parents to fulfill their volunteer roles. We know that meets move quickly and we want to support you and your swimmers with processes to teach families the flow of meets.
NEW! SWIMMER CHECK_IN
All swimmers must check in at the Swimmer Table near the pavilion by 4:50pm. We will be checking that each swimmer has their name on their backs and event #s on their arm. Do this at home before arriving.
NEW! BULL- PEN
All swimmers 10 and under MUST set up and remain in the pavilion bull-pen during the meet. We have a parent and coaches to monitor the area and help usher your littles to their events. They will be allowed to leave for bathroom breaks and to swim, but otherwise should remain in the bull-pen. Swimmers 11 and up are expected to know their events and get to staging on their own, but are also welcome in the bull-pen area. If you think your child is not capable of this, send them to the bull-pen.
Events: You can check your child’s events online by clicking the Meet Entry button or on the attached Entries/Heat Sheets. Print the Heat Sheet for reference during the meet. Remember to use Sharpie to write your swimmer’s name on their back and list of events on their arm/leg.
Volunteers: Volunteers check-in with Natasha at the window near the vending machine room by 5pm. We will hold Timer training and direct all other volunteers to the leads for their areas. Check your volunteer sign-ups here by clicking Job Signup.
Parking: Use the parking lot and, when full, the grass lot next to courts 1 and 2. If you need to park on the street obey all signs and only park on 1 side of the street. Carpool or walk if possible as we are hosting another large team who will need spots.
Swim Caps: See the Concessions area table to pick up any ordered caps or to buy a team swim cap. $10 cash or credit.
Concessions: Concessions will be open and serving Dogwood Pizza, hot dogs, baked potatoes and pot stickers along with sides, snacks, and drinks. Meal Deals for $5 or $7 are a great way to feed the family.
Before Leaving: Your swimmer must check in with a coach before leaving. We had many leave last week before completing their last events and we do not want to scratch any swims or relays.
Clean-up: Before leaving the meet make sure that your family cleans up. Look for swim gear like goggles, and towels and trash from dinner or snacks. Everyone did a great job of this last week, THANK YOU! We need everyone to pitch in to expedite cleanup.
Donuts and Ribbons Friday:
We will celebrate the meet with donuts and fun swim after the team photos. Coach Will will share some highlights of Meet #2 along with Swimmers of the Meet. We will have ribbons for the placement and the highly coveted rainbow ribbons for time improvements. Parents are welcome to hang out in the pool area and then swimmers, siblings, and families can enjoy a fun swim until 10:45am.
Thanks!
